KSDance is run by Wiltshire dance artist and teacher Kate Spavins.

Growing up in Wiltshire, Kate was always interested in the performing arts and sports, attending local performance opportunities. After attending college studying Dance and Drama, Kate attended Falmouth University in stunning Cornwall.

There she completed a three-year Bachelor of the arts degree in Dance and Choreography. Throughout her training, Kate worked with a range of choreographers and companies to teach and produce dance, focusing primarily on community dance projects.

After graduating, opportunities came around to work with a professional touring company in Oxfordshire, working closely with disabled and dancers with learning difficulties. Alongside teaching at a dance school in Swindon.

Throughout the pandemic, Kates's work halted, and she took to exploring her other love, the outdoors, with dance. Creating a community dance film and a growing understanding of the influences of the natural environment.

Since September 2020, Kate has completed a PGCE in Primary Education with Newman University and worked closely to start a site-specific performance company 'Invisible threads' with Co-director Hannah Warren. So far, they have created two dance films with the hopes and dreams for in-person performances and funding to reach larger audiences and communities.

Kates's creative and bubbly personality not only welcomes people into a class, but her understanding and previous experience enable Kate to see the potential in any performer no matter age, ability, or skill set.

Classes are aimed at any age and any ability. With enough interest, KSDance aims to run weekly evening classes based on age groups.

And classes throughout the day for, toddlers and the older generation.

With the additional opportunity for performance groups, Wedding dances, and workshops for schools, community groups, and dance studios.
